Attilia Imbriani and Samuele Airoldi, recent graduates of the MSc in Food Engineering (December 2025), took part in the 13th EurOMA Sustainable Operations and Supply Chains Forum, held in Porto on March 16, 2026. This international forum brings together researchers and industrial experts to discuss how supply chains can address today’s global challenges through more sustainable and regenerative approaches.
During the event, Attilia and Samuele presented their work titled “Social Sustainability Index (SSI) for the Cocoa Supply Chain: a collaborative framework development”, developed in collaboration with a cocoa-processing company. Their research tackles one of the key challenges in global supply chains: how to effectively measure social sustainability beyond formal commitments. The project introduces an innovative tool that translates complex social issues into measurable indicators, helping companies identify critical gaps and make more informed decisions towards truly sustainable supply chains.
