Politecnico di Milano offers to students the opportunity to experience international mobility within the Erasmus + community program, as well as thanks to agreements stipulated with numerous partner institutions in a non-European context. Every year about 1500 foreign students, and as many from PoliMI, participate in international mobility programs. Internationalization is mainly carried out through the ERASMUS + program, which promotes student mobility, within the European Commission's action plan for transnational cooperation in the education sector.

The program is an opportunity for regularly enrolled students to carry out a study period or internship at a foreign university or at a host organization / foreign company that has an agreement with Politecnico di Milano. In this way, students can get credits that will be recognized by Politecnico di Milano. The university has also signed numerous bilateral agreements with prestigious non-European universities and double degree agreements with both European and non-European partners.

The main opportunities are:

• Study period within Erasmus +, extra-EU agreements or special programs;
• Internship in companies or university laboratories;
• Thesis preparation.

Who to contact

The Food Engineering Course of Studies Council (CCS) delegated a professor as “International Mobility Referent” to whom students can directly contact for evaluation procedures, planning and validation of the various mobility programs.
The Referent professor carries out its activities in collaboration with the Studesk, the Politecnico di Milano office for managing the administrative procedures of the international mobility programs in compliance with the School of Industrial and Information Engineering guidelines.
